Tonight's queer artist feature is @cheeky_by_jacob
Jacob Le Gallais is an artist-researcher based in Montreal. His digital drawing series “Cheeky” constitutes a relatively new exploration of queer themes and identity in his work. These pieces attempt to capture the simple, subtle/not so subtle sexuality of everyday gay moments.
Elsewhere, his artwork has investigated notions of urban wildlife, historic and contemporary museum culture, post-industrial ecology, the Anthropocene, and taxidermy.
Jacob’s practice has included collaborative artworks, two-dimensional practices in collage and print media, as well as audio/sound installation, and has been exhibited in Quebec and Ontario in both solo and group exhibitions. Jacob lives with his husband in Montreal, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art Education, oriented to research-creation and participatory art.
